Eastern Red Cedar Posts in Kansas City – 6x6 & 8x8
Need heavy-duty cedar posts for a pergola, pavilion or porch? Wyco Wood Co. is a small, veteran-owned sawmill selling eastern red cedar harvested in the Midwest and milled right here in Kansas City. Our 6x6 and 8x8 posts are cut to order, so you buy straight from the mill instead of off a big-box shelf.
6x6 and 8x8 cedar post prices
6x6x8 eastern red cedar post: $78
8x8x8 eastern red cedar post: $138.67
Both are priced at $3.25 per board foot, and tax is already included. Posts are rough-sawn and true to dimension, so a 6x6 measures a full 6" x 6". Lengths go up to 8 ft. If you need a shorter post, just ask.

What people use them for
Pergolas and pavilions
Deck and porch posts
Mailbox posts
Fence corner and gate posts (we sell the posts; your installer or you put them in)
Landscaping, garden beds and retaining edges
Timber framing accents, mantels and beams
Eastern red cedar is naturally rot resistant, and it has the rich red-and-cream color and classic cedar smell people love.
Sold green and air-dried
Our posts are sold green and air-dried. They are not kiln-dried. Like any green timber, they can check (small surface cracks) and move a little as they dry. That's normal for big cedar posts and part of the rustic look.
